Starting school is an important time in a child’s life and children’s readiness for school is important to us here at Great Start Livingston!
Kindergarten registration in Livingston County is held between January and April, depending on your school district.
Registering early allows the teachers, principals, and school districts several opportunities to connect with you and your child before school begins and allows them the opportunity to plan for the upcoming school year.

Brighton Kindergarten Registration

Enrollment opens February 1, 2024 for the 2024-2025 school year.

Note: School of choice will be LIMITED for both Jr. Kindergarten and Kindergarten for fall. The application window will be open from April 1-30 for non-residents to apply for entry. Visit the School of Choice webpage for more information.

New Student Enrollment is available online now by filling out the enrollment form (click on Pre-Registration). A Kinder Academy (Young Fives) program is planned for the 2024-2025 school year in our NEW building. Call Laura with any questions you may have, 517-223-6430.
Kindergarten Round-Up at H. T. Smith Elementary (soon to be renamed Fowlerville Elementary School):
- April 17 & 18, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Please complete the pre-enrollment before the Round-Up dates and please bring your child with you.
Hartland Kindergarten Registration
Hartland Kindergarten Round-Up
- Online enrollment for Kindergarten begins February 1, 2024.
- Kindergarten orientation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 10-11:30 am. at the HESSC, 9525 Highland Road (former high school on M-59).
- Parents will have an opportunity to hear from kindergarten teachers and principals about a “typical” school day and the curriculum.
- Central office administrators, transportation and student nutrition personnel, and the school nurse will be on hand.
- Hartland Lions Club will offer free vision screen (Project KIDsight)
- A school bus will be on sight for your child(ren) to experience
- Parents are welcome to bring their child(ren).

Howell Kindergarten Registration
Begindergarten and Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-25 school year is now open. This year, all Begindergarten and Kindergarten registrations will be done online at HowellSchools.com/kdg.
On Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 6 – 7 p.m. each elementary school will host a Begindergarten and Kindergarten Information Night. At this event, families will learn about the school, meet the principal and begindergarten and kindergarten teachers, and tour the school.

For the 2024-2025 school year, Academia Bilingüe at Three Fires Elementary will accept applications for enrollment in its kindergarten classroom. In Academia Bilingüe at Three Fires Elementary, students will learn the same course work as in other classrooms in the district, just in Spanish. By the end of elementary school students will be proficient in both English and Spanish. A parent information night on Academia Bilingüe at Three Fires Elementary will be held on Wednesday, February 21 at 6 p.m. in the Three Fires Elementary School media center.
