Unadilla Township Celebrates New StoryWalk at Community Park
A Night of Reading, Walking, and Community
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, families gathered at the Unadilla Township Community Park in Gregory to celebrate the kickoff of a brand-new StoryWalk® installation.
Children and caregivers strolled along the paved path, stopping at each panel to read the featured story, And Here’s to You by David Elliott. Laughter and smiles filled the park as families pointed out illustrations, acted out parts of the story, and enjoyed the evening together.
📚 What is a StoryWalk®?
A StoryWalk® is a literacy-boosting project that places pages of an illustrated children’s book along an outdoor walking route. It encourages reading, movement, and family connection—all while enjoying the beauty of nature.
Community Came Together
At the event, kids received free books and snacks, while parents connected with neighbors and community partners. Volunteers, township leaders, and families worked side by side to make the event a success.
Special Thanks
This StoryWalk® is made possible thanks to the support of Unadilla Township, community volunteers, and Great Start Livingston. Together, we’re building community connections that support families of young children across Livingston County.
