Looking for a fun, hands-on evening to enjoy with your little learner? Join Help Me Grow Livingston and Livingston Educational Service Agency for a FREE Little Explorers’ S.T.E.A.M. Night designed especially for Livingston County families with children ages 0–5!
S.T.E.A.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math—and young children can explore all five through something they already love to do: Play!
At S.T.E.A.M. Night, children and their grown-ups can move from station to station, experimenting, creating, building, moving and discovering together. There’s no right or wrong way to explore. Families are encouraged to go at their own pace, follow their child’s interests and enjoy the experience together.
What will your little learner discover?
Families can enjoy a variety of hands-on activities, including:
🧪 S.T.E.A.M. Stations – Explore science, technology, engineering, art and math through playful activities.
🎨 Sensory & Creative Activities – Get hands-on with activities that encourage creativity, curiosity and exploration.
👶 Large Motor Play – Give little bodies a chance to move, play and build important motor skills.
📚 A FREE Book for Each Child – Every child can choose a book to take home, while supplies last.
🍕 FREE Pizza for Families – Enjoy dinner together while supplies last.
Why S.T.E.A.M. for young children?
You don’t have to wait until your child starts school to introduce them to S.T.E.A.M. concepts. Babies, toddlers and preschoolers are natural scientists and problem-solvers. Every time they stack blocks, figure out how something works, mix materials, sort objects, create a picture or ask, “What happens if…?” they’re learning.
Hands-on play gives young children opportunities to:
- Practice problem-solving and critical thinking
- Explore cause and effect
- Build early math and science skills
- Strengthen fine and large motor skills
- Express creativity
- Develop language and communication skills
- Build confidence through trying, experimenting and discovering
And perhaps most importantly, S.T.E.A.M. activities give families a chance to learn and play together. Talking with your child about what they’re doing, asking questions and showing genuine curiosity helps turn everyday play into meaningful learning.
Designed with little learners in mind
This event is created specifically for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, so families can feel comfortable exploring activities that are appropriate for young children.
Whether your child dives right into an activity or wants to watch for a while before joining in, there’s no pressure. Follow their lead, have fun and enjoy discovering something new together!
Adults must stay with children during the event.
