Visit Destinations for a Discount with the Michigan Activity Pass
The Michigan Activity Pass, also know as the MAP Pass, provides free or discounted access to hundreds of state parks, historic sites, cultural attractions, campgrounds and recreation areas across Michigan, and is a great resource for families looking for budget-friendly fun.
The program is presented by The Library Network program and is a partnership between Michigan’s nearly 400 public libraries.
How To Get A Michigan Activity Pass
- To begin, you need a library card. Head to your Livingston County library to get one. While you’re there, make sure to check out the programming offered.
- Visit http://michiganactivitypass.info
- Enter your start location using your zip code.
- Select the button that corresponds with the max miles you want your search to cover.
- Enter the name of your library in the “My Home Library” text box.
- Refine your search as needed. You can search by all destinations or you can limit by subject.
- When you have selected the attraction you want to visit click on the more info button to see what the offer is. Otherwise, hit the “Get Pass” button.
- Click on “Request Pass” to begin the reservation process.
- Fill out your name, phone number, email address and library card number fields.
- In order to utilize the mobile pass feature, you must select either the “24 hours before”, ”48 hours before” or “1 week before” option from the “Send email reminder” drop down menu. If one of those options is not selected the user will not receive a confirmation email/mobile pass.
- Click on the “Submit this Request” button to finalize the reservation.
- Show your pass when you arrive at your destination!

3 important things to note:
1. Patrons may check out one MAP pass per library card every 7 days.
2. When you check out a MAP pass, you have 7 days from the date it was reserved to use it.
3. Prior to your visit, make sure to check the museum’s website in order to verify hours of operation, etc.
