Starting school is an important time in a child’s life and children’s readiness for school is important to us here at Great Start Livingston!
Kindergarten registration in Livingston County is held between January and April, depending on your school district.
Registering early allows the teachers, principals, and school districts several opportunities to connect with you and your child before school begins and allows them the opportunity to plan for the upcoming school year.

Hartland Kindergarten Registration
Hartland Kindergarten Round-Up
- Online enrollment for Kindergarten begins February 1, 2025.
- Kindergarten orientation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10-11:30 am. at the HESSC, 9525 Highland Road (former high school on M-59).
- Parents will have an opportunity to hear from kindergarten teachers and principals about a “typical” school day and the curriculum.
- Central office administrators, transportation and student nutrition personnel, and the school nurse will be on hand.
- A school bus will be on sight for your child(ren) to experience
- Parents are welcome to bring their child(ren).

Howell Kindergarten Registration
Begindergarten and Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 school year is now open. This year, all Begindergarten and Kindergarten registrations will be done online at HowellSchools.com/kdg.
We also invite families to attend our Begindergarten and Kindergarten Information Night on Tuesday, March 18, from 6 – 7 p.m. at each elementary school. During this event, families will:
- Learn more about the school and programs.
- Meet the principal and Begindergarten and Kindergarten teachers.
- Tour the school facilities.

Academia Bilingüe at Three Fires Elementary Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program
Academia Bilingüe at Three Fires Elementary is now accepting applications for its Kindergarten classroom for the 2025-2026 school year. This dual-language immersion program offers students the same coursework as other classrooms in the district—entirely in Spanish. By the end of elementary school, students will be proficient in both English and Spanish.
We invite families to learn more about this exciting opportunity at the Parent Information Night:

Pinckney Community Schools is also offering a 5-day full-day KinderREADY program at Farley Hill Elementary and Country Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year. If the child is not 5 years of age by September 1, 2025, but will be 5 on or before December 1, 2025, the KinderREADY program is strongly recommended. KinderREADY is a program specially designed for young school-age children (children turning 5 between September 1, 2025, through December 1, 2025). KinderREADY honors the unique pace of young learners and was created specifically for children with summer/fall birthdays as an important transition year.
