Building Community Over Coffee – Biggby Fundraiser Recap

On Friday, April 11, Great Start Livingston brewed up more than just coffee at Biggby Coffee in Howell. We built relationships, shared resources, and strengthened community connections for families of young children across Livingston County.

Our Family Liaisons, Breanne and Lauren, were at Biggby from 10 a.m. to noon, welcoming families with free books, fun crafts, and meaningful conversation. We talked with parents and caregivers about the Great Start Family Coalition, shared early childhood resources, and had a chance to hear firsthand what matters most to local families raising children ages 0–8.

We are thrilled to share that we raised $340 to support our work with families in Livingston County! 🎉

We also want to give a huge thank you to Keegan Piro, owner of Biggby Coffee Howell, for hosting and supporting this fundraiser. Your partnership means the world to us and to the families we serve. 💛

Throughout the day, $1 from every 20 or 24 oz. drink sold was donated to support our Family Coalition. Free 10 oz. kids’ drinks and free books and crafts made the day extra special for the little ones and helped us bring joy, literacy, and community connection to our neighbors.

This event wasn’t just about raising funds, it was about raising awareness of how we can all come together to support children during their most important early years. It was a day full of smiles, fun stickers, happy families, and strong community spirit.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. If you missed us this time, don’t worry. We’ve got more family-friendly events on the way. Keep an eye on our Events Page or follow us on social media for the latest updates.

Here’s to strong coffee and even stronger community connections!
