Children Get Ready to Read at Family Fun Day: Celebrate Early Childhood
Kids, families, and friends are invited to Family Fun Day: Celebrate Early Childhood on Saturday, March 11 from 10:15 – 11:15am at 2/42 Church, 7526 Grand River Avenue, Brighton, MI.
Enjoy an interactive music concert with Beverly Meyer – The Music Lady at 10:30am. Meyer will have everyone up and moving to her beat! Families will also receive a free activity bag that includes new books, a puzzle, and an early literacy craft which encourages language and pre-reading skill development.
“Family Fun Day: Celebrate Early Literacy is important because it helps show families how fun and easy it is to teach simple early literacy skills that can be done at home or on-the-go. When engaging with kids, whether singing, dancing, writing, talking or playing, children are learning about language and the world around them and parents are setting a foundation for their success in school,” said Livingston Early Literacy Collaborative organizers.
Family Fun Day: Celebrate Early Literacy is sponsored by the Livingston Early Literacy Collaborative which includes the six Livingston County Libraries (Brighton, Fowlerville, Hamburg, Hartland Cromaine, Howell, and Pinckney), Great Start Livingston, Child Connect for Family Success, LESA Early Childhood Program, and Michigan State University Extension.
