FOR PARENTS: IEP Course
| Registration is now open for the next Michigan Alliance for Families IEP Course. Parents are invited to register for a free five-week IEP Course. Learn to improve the quality of your contributions to your child’s IEP and increase your ability to address concerns using the IEP process. This course is only for parents/guardians with a child/young adult who is currently receiving special education services. Space is limited, registration closes January 18 or when the class is full. After registration closes, a Parent Mentor will contact you to confirm your attendance, then you will receive a confirmation email with the link to attend. | IEP COURSE SATURDAYS, starting FEBRUARY 3, 2024 9:30AM-11:00AM Learn to improve the quality of your contributions to your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and increase your effectiveness to address concerns using the IEP process. This IEP Course includes a weekly follow-up call/email with a Parent Mentor to assist with applying the class information to your child’s IEP. • February 3rd Special Education Laws, Rules, and Educational Needs • February 10th Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance • February 17th Goals and Objectives, and Progress Monitoring • February 24th Supplementary Aids and Services, and Special Education Services and Programs • March 2nd Rights, Responsibilities, and Resolving Disagreements Who should attend?
