We all want our kids to grow up happy, healthy, and resilient. But did you know that everyday positive moments—like sharing a laugh, having dinner together, or receiving a high-five—can shape a child’s lifelong well-being?

This April, the Great Start Family Coalition invites all Livingston County parents and caregivers of children ages 0–8 to our next gathering:
“Growing Happy, Healthy Kids: The Power of Positive Childhood Experiences.”

We’ll explore the HOPE Framework (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences) and how Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) help kids:

  • Develop lifelong resilience
  • Heal from challenges or stress
  • Form healthy relationships
  • Thrive into adulthood

You’ll leave with fresh insight on how simple daily interactions can rewire your child’s brain and buffer against adversity—plus tools to practice thoughtful (Type 2) thinking to create more intentional and joyful moments as a family.

We’re thrilled to welcome Jennifer Lange, LMSW, Mental Health and Disabilities Coordinator for Head Start and GSRP, as our community partner and co-facilitator for the night.

Whether you’re navigating toddler tantrums or prepping your preschooler for kindergarten, you’ll find real value in this conversation—and connect with other parents who get it.

Who Should Come?

  • Parents, grandparents, and caregivers of children ages 0–8
  • Anyone in Livingston County looking to build community, share stories, and learn together

Dinner and childcare are free, but registration is required by April 15:
