It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!

Starting school is an important time in a child’s life and children’s readiness for school is important to us.

Kindergarten registration begins in January – April, depending on your school district.

Registering early allows the teachers, principals, and school districts several opportunities to connect with you and your child before school begins and allows them the opportunity to plan for the upcoming school year.

Brighton Kindergarten Registration

Enrollment opens February 1st for the 2023-24 school year. School of Choice enrollment will only be accepted during the open application window. It is under review with the Board of Education and will be updated after the January 23rd meeting. Please visit the School of Choice webpage for more information.

Kindergarten Round Up

  • February 14, 6:30 – 8 p.m.
    • Hawkins and Spencer Elementary
  • February 21, 6:30 – 8 p.m.
    • Hilton and Hornung

Fowlerville Kindergarten Registration

  • New Student Enrollment is available online by filling out the enrollment form.
  • Please complete the pre-enrollment prior to the Round Up dates.
  • Bring your child to Round Up.
  • Call Laura with any questions you may have, 517-223-6430.
  • Kindergarten Round Up at H. T. Smith Elementary
    • April 19 & 20, 1:30-4 and 5-7 pm
    • April 21, 1:30-4 pm

Hartland Kindergarten Registration

  • Online enrollment for Kindergarten begins February 1, 2023.
  • Kindergarten orientation will be held on Saturday, February 18 from 10-11:30 am. at the HESSC, 9525 Highland Road (former high school on M-59).
    • Parents will have an opportunity to hear from kindergarten teachers and principals about a “typical” school day and the curriculum. 
    • Central office administrators, transportation and student nutrition personnel, and the school nurse will be on hand.  
    • Parents are welcome to bring their child(ren).

Howell Kindergarten Registration

Begindergarten and Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-24 school year is now open. This year, all Begindergarten and Kindergarten registrations will be done online at HowellSchools.com/kdg.

New this year – Howell Public Schools is excited to launch Academia Bilingüe at Three Fires Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. Academia Bilingüe at Three Fires Elementary will be a dual language immersion program where kindergarten and first grade students will learn in both English and Spanish through their elementary years.

A parent information night on Academia Bilingüe at Three Fires Elementary will be held on Tuesday, January 31 at 6 p.m. in the Three Fires Elementary School media center. Enrollment in the program will open in February 2023. More information here: HowellSchools.com/duallanguage.

On Thursday, March 16 from 6 – 7 p.m. each elementary school will host a Begindergarten and Kindergarten Information Night. At this event, families will learn about the school, meet the principal and begindergarten and kindergarten teachers, and tour the school.
