Great Start Livingston invites parents and caregivers of children ages 0–8 to attend the Lifting Our Voices Summit 2025 on Thursday, May 22 in Lansing.
The Lifting Our Voices Summit is back for 2025 and it’s more powerful than ever. This annual event, hosted by Michigan’s Children, brings together parents, caregivers, early childhood professionals, and policymakers from across Michigan for a day of connection, storytelling, and action.
In Livingston County, Great Start Livingston is proud to support local parent leaders attending the summit as part of our commitment to building community connections that support families with young children. Together, we work toward a vision where every child is safe, healthy, and eager to succeed in school and in life.
🌱 Why It Matters for Livingston County Families
Livingston County is home to over 11,000 children under age 6—and 70% live in households where all parents work. Families here face challenges like high child care costs, limited infant care availability, and few places to turn for mental health or parent support.
When parents use their voice to shape the systems that impact their families, real change happens. The Lifting Our Voices Summit amplifies those voices and puts family experience at the center of policy and practice.
