Help Improve Maternal & Infant Health: Join the Region 9 Family & Community Town Hall
Families and community members are invited to join the Region 9 September Family & Community Town Hall on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m.
The Region 9 Town Hall is a quarterly opportunity for families, community members, healthcare providers, doulas, public health professionals, and community partners to come together around maternal and child health.
These conversations help participants share experiences, learn about current efforts, build connections, and work together to improve outcomes for pregnant people, babies, and families throughout the Region 9 counties.
Why Family & Community Voice Matters
The people who experience pregnancy, birth, postpartum care, and raising young children bring knowledge that cannot be captured by statistics alone.
Family and community voices can help identify what is working, where families are experiencing barriers, what resources are difficult to find or access, and where changes could make the maternal and infant health system work better.
For Great Start Livingston, this work connects directly with our goal of helping ensure children are born healthy and that families have access to high-quality perinatal services and supports.
Livingston County data also highlights the importance of this work. Our 2025 Early Childhood Fact Sheet reported that 21.8% of live births had less than adequate prenatal care, reinforcing the importance of connecting families with information, resources, and supportive systems as early as possible.
Family voices belong at the table.
Your experiences can help community partners better understand what families need and where systems can improve.
Who Should Attend?
This Town Hall is not only for healthcare professionals. Families and community members are encouraged to participate.
Consider attending if you are pregnant or expecting a baby, recently had a baby, are a parent or caregiver, support pregnant people or families with young children, work in healthcare or early childhood, are a doula or community health professional, or simply care about improving maternal and infant health in our communities.
