Startup grants available to launch businesses or help newly licensed child care facilities

Grants will help tackle child care crisis

The State of Michigan has opened applications for start up grants to lower costs for entrepreneurs looking to start or expand a child care business. Through this opportunity there are many resources available such as webinars, toolkits and a navigator to help with the application process. Locally, in Livingston County, the Child Care Network is available to help those who are interested in pursuing this opportunity.

This grant opportunity is part of a $23 million investment to address the child care crisis by supporting entrepreneurs who need help in opening a new child care business. Applications opened November 7 and can be used to help launch a new business or help newly licensed facilities by supporting some of the financial burden of recruiting and retaining staff and/or purchasing classroom materials.
