Summer EBT for Michigan Students – Deadline is January 31
This upcoming summer, eligible families will be able to receive money for select food items through the new Summer EBT program.
The Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) program has officially ended. However, the United States Department of Agriculture has approved a permanent Summer EBT program for eligible households and school districts.
Summer EBT for Michigan Students can be used to purchase:
- fruits and vegetables
- meat, poultry, and fish
- dairy products
- breads and cereals
- other foods (such as snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages)
Eligibility Overview
Summer EBT benefits are available for eligible households based on their student eligibility status (free or reduced). This can be from direct certification, categorical eligibility, or from the School Meals and Summer EBT Application.
Learn more about the program here and then talk to your school about which form you need. The following websites for each Livingston County School District will help in navigating:
- Brighton Area Schools Student Nutrition
- Fowlerville Community Schools Nutrition Information
- Hartland Public Schools Student Nutrition
- Howell Public Schools Food Service
- Pinckney Community Schools Food Service
Note: When a family completes a Free and Reduced Meal Application, that is also considered their Summer EBT application, so a family does not need to take any additional steps past completing the application.
January 31, 2024 is the deadline to apply for Summer EBT 2024.
Be on the lookout for additional information regarding Summer EBT and what to expect from this program in the coming months.
