Talking is Teaching Livingston
Great Start Livingston is a proud partner of Talking is Teaching Livingston.
Talking is Teaching – Talk, Read, Sing launched in the fall of 2018 supported by The Community Foundation for Livingston County and the Livingston Educational Service Agency.
The campaign is designed to reinforce the overarching goal that every child in Livingston County be proficient in literacy skills by age eight. The campaign is built on the belief that in order to reach our goal, we must honor the family as a child’s first teacher.
Support for parents and families of young children must begin at birth and involve multiple members of the community. They partner with faith-based organizations, local school districts, laundromats, local libraries, and community service organizations. These partnerships enable them to share the Talking is Teaching messaging and develop creative ways to work on achieving their targeted goal.
