Join Michigan’s Children next week as they explore the Federal Budget Process and where appropriations and funding levels for children and families stand between the White House and Capitol Hill. Learn when and how advocates can raise up their voices on the federal programs that matter most to you.

They’ll bring together a panel of national advocates, budget experts and policy gurus to talk about how decisions over big appropriations – including discretionary spending where many social programs fall – are made and what’s a stake this year.

With the new fiscal year beginning October 1, the federal budget process has become a nail-bitter in recent times. This year, the bipartisan budget agreement struck between the President and Congress in May has added a new twist to the process.
