Women United Reading Trails
There has been great response to the permanent reading trails that have been placed in communities around Livingston County. Currently, there are permanent reading trails in Hartland Settlers Park, Fowlerville Rotary Mile and Genoa Township Hall Walking Trail. Visitors have the opportunity to learn and enjoy reading outdoors in local parks. Pages from children’s books are professionally printed and installed on signs along an outdoor path. As viewers walk the Reading Trail they are guided to participate in physical activities and imaginary play, as well as learn some fun facts as they read each sign.
Moveable trails have taken place throughout the summer months at the Howell Farmers Market and Food Truck Friday in Pinckney. To become involved, contact jclum@lcunitedway.org.
